This collection consists of one letter from Acting Governor of New Jersey Frank S. Farley to Major Charles Lee Harp, dated November 15, 1945. This letter reveals that Major Harp was charged with the mission to represent the State of New Jersey at the United Nations Organization meeting London to extend the invitation to the United Nations to establish its headquarters in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Frank S. Farley was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on December 5, 1901. He attended the Wenonah Military Academy and was a 1925 graduate of Georgetown University Law School in Washington, D.C. Farley was elected for the first time as a Republican to the New Jersey State Assembly in 1937, and remained there until 1940. It was at that time he was elected to the New Jersey State Senate.
